Explore a historic Lingnan village with narrow lanes, temples, cafés and independent shops, plus practical parking and travel tips from Hong Kong.

August 24, 2026

If you are looking to hop over the border to Zhuhai to see what it’s all about, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge makes this an easy, a nice change of scenery and enjoyable trip from Hong Kong. Or maybe you’re planning a visit to Zhuhai and want some suggestions where to go.

Whether you have a single day to explore or want to stay a little longer, Zhuhai is spread out and offers a quieter change of pace, good food, and a chance to see and enjoy something a little different.

post), where the food was great as usual, and it was right next door to the entrance to Beishan Village.

Inside, you'll come across something to see, eat, or drink around almost every corner. Near the main entrance, the first temple on the left contains a collection of small shops selling calligraphy, tea, clothes, and handmade jewellery.

Keep an eye out for delivery mopeds moving through the alleys, but otherwise, this is a relaxed place to wander for a couple of hours, browse, and take photos.

Look out, too, for Chit coffee shop, where an old black-and-white television still works. We also spotted a couple of hotels on the map; staying locally could make for an especially interesting overnight visit.

Food and Drinks

Beishan is a good choice for visitors looking for Zhuhai food beyond the usual mall or chain options. There are cafés and casual Zhuhai restaurants throughout the village, with Commune a strong starting point.

In the evening, stalls set up outside the entrance for a night market vibe. Due the popularity of Beishan, you should be prepared for crowds but we went on a Saturday at lunchtime and it was fine.

This village is appealing for anyone seeking a different slice of Zhuhai nightlife rather pubs and clubs.

Check out the large self-serve craft beer stand across from Commune. Choose a beer, pay, then stroll through Beishan Village with your drink. Cheers!

Parking and Getting There

By car or taxi, Beishan Village is approximately 24 minutes from the Hong Kong to Zhuhai Bridge (Hong-Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB)) exit, using toll-free roads. If you’re coming from Hong Kong, this is perfect for visitors exploring places to visit in Zhuhai.

There is plenty of parking, both outdoors and in a large underground car park. We parked outside on a day approaching 40°C and, in hindsight, the underground option would have been better. There is a charge on exit, paid via QR code.
